Wow, my life just experienced a major kink in it, but things are kicking back into place now. Lots of downs this week, I felt almost cursed, haha, but then I just received an email saying:
Dear Wind
Congratulations you are one of the lucky winners of the Logitech Ultimate Ears Escape Story Competition. You are now the proud owner of a pair of Ultimate Ears SuperFi 3 noise-isolating earphones.
Guess good things do happen =) I don't even remember what escape story I wrote anymore.
Just came back from an annual meeting for music therapy. It's strange how, despite it being just a uni masters course, there's so much opportunity to meet many different people and just work on social skills, not just within placement, but just... in society. Having to learn how to mingle with business people, principals and directors, it's just a good experience.
Anyway, enough about uni and other bumps in my life. Shall begin with some lovely coffee art:

Went with my family to Jane's Kitchen for a nice family dinner. Haven't had one of those in a long time, but since we were there for Mother's Day, we ordered my mum's favourite dishes.
From Week 19, 2010 |
My mum loves their tofu and we ordered mainly tofu dishes.

Her favourite yong tau foo.Yea yea, all the photos turned out horrible because of the dim yellow lighting. I didn't have my camera with me and used my phone too. Dim lights are my camera phone's most hated enemy.
Not too long ago, we revisited The Temple of Love... the original name of the restaurant eludes me, but yea, the fried rice:

Gado gado, which is a dish of vegetable salad with peanut sauce. I really liked this one =)

Sambal chicken...

Picked up some mangosteen juice from an Asian supermarket. It really tasted more like guava juice to me, I had a feeling they mislabelled it. Mangosteen juice is meant to be really good for your health. Doesn't taste too bad either.
From Week 19, 2010 |
From Azuma, their baked cheesecake. It's meant to look like that! It usually happens when there's lots of air inside. As soon as it comes out of the oven, it'd look really puffed up and huge, then it sinks in, forming a crater like that.
From Week 19, 2010 |
Azuma's chocolate tart, which isn't quite as nice as the Excellence 70% dark chocolate tart from Lindt cafe, but still good. It's chocolate, can't go wrong. (Actually, it can... had some pretty disgusting chocolate before... in the form of cheap easter eggs... =( bleh)
I have one more cute little cafe to update about, but right now, I need to start reading up for my essay, so that's till next time =) MarioTokyo~!

Chinta Ria! Always seemed like overpriced malaysian restaurant to me.. But if people miss the food they'll pay for it :)
There must be lots of other places which are cheaper and just as authentic, usually located in dodgy looking shops. A family friend took me to one but I have no idea where it is. I may find out some day...
YEAH, my meimei is back to life!!!=) take care yar.

I've actually been to a dodgy looking malaysian restaurant too, pretty cheap and authentic like you said. However, the ambience of the place you eat at does matter to some extend.
Thanks jie =) I'll send you my email.
